Innovation-driven, quality leading - AIBEIKEN's piezo switches

By:Blazers

AIBEIKEN have been specializing in the production of piezo switches for 13 years. Here is the Introduction to the Properties and Performance of Piezo Switches:

A piezo switch is an electronic component that utilizes the direct piezoelectric effect (mechanical energy → electrical energy) or the inverse piezoelectric effect (electrical energy → mechanical energy) of piezoelectric materials to achieve circuit switching. Its core mechanism relies on the deformation of piezoelectric materials or electrical signals to trigger switching action, offering advantages such as fast response, long lifespan, and simple structure. Below is a detailed introduction to its key attributes and performance characteristics.

1. Core Attributes

(1) Piezoelectric Materials

Common Materials: Lead zirconate titanate (PZT), quartz crystals, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), aluminum nitride (AlN), etc.

Characteristics: High electromechanical coupling coefficient, high dielectric constant, and low loss, determining the switch's sensitivity and efficiency.

(2) Operating Modes

Direct Mode: Mechanical pressure generates voltage in the piezoelectric material, directly triggering the switch.

Indirect Mode: An external voltage drives piezoelectric deformation, mechanically opening or closing the circuit.

(3) Structural Design

Contact Type: Physical contact switching, requiring consideration of contact material (e.g., silver alloy) resistance to arcing.

Non-Contact Type: Switching via changes in capacitance or magnetic field state, eliminating wear.

2. Key Performance Indicators

(1) Electrical Performance

Voltage Range: output signals (direct piezoelectric effect) range from millivolts to volts.

Insulation Resistance: >100 MΩ

Breakdown Voltage: Can reach several kV.

(2) Mechanical Performance

Response Time: Microsecond to millisecond range.

Mechanical Lifespan: reach 10^6 cycles.

(3) Environmental Adaptability

Temperature Range: -40°C to +150°C.

3. Typical Applications

Industrial Control: Safety switches in hazardous environments.

Consumer Electronics: Piezoelectric buttons in smartphones, haptic feedback.

Automotive Electronics: Engine pressure sensors, parking radar triggers.
